Vinayaka is the most venerated deity within Hindu Dharma, widely acknowledged as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences, and the god of intellect and wisdom. As the deity of new beginnings, he is honored at the commencement of rituals and ceremonies. His worship extends beyond India to include Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Nepal. In a village in Bengal, Vinayaka is intricately carved from wood by a group of skilled artisans known as Sutradhar (woodcarvers), who reside in the Ganga belt's ravines and utilize locally sourced wood such as Mahogany and Mango. These carvings serve as ideal Indian cultural souvenirs for gifting and home decoration.
